Book Review: The Shootout Solution by Michael R. Underwood

The Shootout Solution (Genrenauts, #1)The Shootout Solution by Michael R. Underwood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really fun novella-length mashup between SF/F and Westerns. Self aware, diverse cast, lots of great wise-cracking banter. Underwood is a master at creating dramatic tension and stakes in a very short time. Lots of trope-based neepery for those who love that sort of thing, but easy to follow if you’re not a trope person. I’m planning to read more in this universe. Rip-roaring fun!
